Manufacturing of fashion and home furnishing products requires a lot of resources and puts a great responsibility on us, as a leading actor within the industry. We are focusing on using resources in an efficient manner and strive to make active sustainable decisions all through the value chain, starting in product development and design.
We have clear policies which regulate the usage of chemicals and specific materials, e.g. no PVC, antibacterial substances or fur. As cotton is an important raw material within the apparel business, a key step for Ellos Group has been to join "Better Cotton". Better Cotton Is a non-profit organization that works to improve global cotton production. This by teaching cotton farmers more sustainable methods. Better Cotton spreads guidelines for more sustainable and resource-efficient cotton production where water and chemical consumption is reduced, cotton yields are increased and worker conditions are improved. Better Cotton is sourced via a system of mass balance and is not physically traceable to end products. For more information visit bettercotton.org/learnmore.
Ellos Group are committed to sourcing 100% of our cotton as more sustainable cotton by 2023, reaching a level of 95% in 2021. More sustainable cotton includes Better Cotton, recycled cotton and organic cotton.
Animal rights are important to us. For our products made from animal origin materials, we demand that the animals are treated decently. We support animal rights and are a member of the Fur Free Retailer Programme.
Ellos Group works to set clear goals for the use of sustainable materials and educate key personnel to promote sustainable choices in design and purchasing. The goal is to offer high-quality fashion and home furnishings with more sustainable materials and increased longevity.
